NEW BUILDING UPDATE!
Date: 5/25/07 The building is also coming along! The wire was put up this week in preparation for the stucco to be applied. The insulation was installed on the second floor today and we are being told that the drywall is being delivered on Tuesday so maybe there will be walls up by next friday! The race is on to see what will be done first, the ladder truck or the building...

NEW LADDER TRUCK ON DISPLAY AT FIRE EXPO!
Date: 5/18/07 The new Ladder 24 was on display for all to see at the Harrisburg Fire Expo on the weekend of May 18, 19 & 20! Gladwyne members traveled to Harrisburg each of the three days to look at the truck! It was definitely one of the more popular trucks with a continuous line to sit in the tiller seat! The truck went back to KME for some additional work that needs to be completed prior to the delivery to Gladwyne!

ANOTHER TRIP TO KME
Date: 5/15/07 Out weekly trip to KME proved to be a good one, as we were able to assist in the decisions for mounting several items on the truck. Today there were engineers climbing all over the truck preparing it for the Harrisburg Expo. The ladder truck will leave KME tomorrow afternoon headed for Harrisburg to be on display for the weekend.

AZALEA DAY
Date: 5/12/07 Today Gladywne Volunteers took the 1954 Autocar, Utility 24, and recently returned Marine 24 to the Saint Christopher's Church Spring Fair, better known as Azalea Day. Gladwyne members also handled a fire alarm in the middle of the event!

ANOTHER TRIP TO KME
Date: 5/8/07 On Monday morning three Gladwyne Volunteers traveled to KME to look over the truck and take some more pictures for everybody to see. The truck is coming along and is expected to be one of KME's showpieces at the upcoming PA State Fire EXPO next weekend! There is another trip scheduled for next Monday or Tuesday just prior to it leaving for the EXPO.

OFF WITH THE RED STRIPES!
Date: 5/3/07 Happy Birthday to Brian McDermott who turned 18 on Sunday April 29, 2007! With this big birthday comes the most exciting thing for a junior firefighter....Getting rid of their red stripes which indicates that they are juniors and not allowed in a fire building. Brian got to rip his red stripes off and join the ranks of interior firefighters! Congratulations and we look forward to seeing you on the nozzle!
