TRIP TO KME
Date: 4/19/07 Today several members of the Ladder Committee traveled to KME to inspect the progress of the new ladder truck. We were able to see all of the most recent updates and work that is being done to the truck. The crew worked with KME staff on positioning of items such as cord reels, circuit boxes, quartz lights, and outside receptacles. There will be many more trips in the near future as well!

EARLY MORNING HOUSE FIRE - GLADWYNE ASSISTS BRYN MAWR!
Date: 4/17/07 Firefighters were called to the 300 block of Thornbrook Ave in Rosemont just after 0130 hrs this morning for a reported house fire. Upon arrival of Lower Merion Police they reported heavy fire coming from several of the 1st floor windows. Upon arrival of firefighters, 3 hoselines were immediately stretched into the building to extinguish the fire and also to take above the fire while checking to see if the fire had spread to the upper levels. The fire was quickly contained to the first floor west side of the house! Another GREAT stop by the West End Trifecta! (Bryn Mawr / Gladwyne / Ardmore Fire Companies). Support crews included Penn Wynne Fire Company for the FAST Team, Narberth Ambulance and Radnor Fire Company Ambulance.

BUSY WEEK AT KME
Date: 4/12/07 More ladder truck updates have come in! This round of photographs show that the ladder has been mounted to the truck. We have been told that the truck will be back at KME's main plant buy Sunday morning. A few members of the Ladder Truck Committee will be heading up to see it on Thursday, so we will have more pictures then.

LITTLE FIRE, HARD WORK
Date: 4/7/07 Even small fires require hard work. Gladwyne firefighters responded to Spring Mill Road where a pickup truck ignited a large pile of straw. 800 feet of hose was needed to reach the hydrant. Then the entire pile of straw had to be pulled apart and completely soaked down. Firefighters were on scene for over an hour.

LADDER TRUCK UPDATE
Date: 4/5/07 We received word from our salesmen today that the ladder will be back at the main KME plant by next Saturday. The trailer has been married to the tractor, the ladder will be mounted on Monday, and all of the compartments are being mounted or are already mounted. The tiller cab is built and is being prepared for the paint booth to get its last finishing touch...A white roof like all of the other Gladwyne Apparatus!
