LARGE OPEN SPACE SEARCH & RESCUE DRILL
Date: 2/28/07 Tonight Gladwyne Firefighters joined forces with our Brothers from Narberth Fire Company and had a "Large Open Space Search and Rescue Drill". This drill allows our firefighters to perform search and rescue operations in large open spaces such as large commercial buildings, supermarkets, schools, gymnasiums, and churches. We were fortunate enough to secure the old Wilmington Piano Company on Matsonsford Road to hold this drill with the help of the Lower Merion Township Fire Marshalls office. These pictures show the searching and rescue of victims, what a view of the thermal imaging camera shows in a dark smokey environment, and how much smoke was in the basement that was ventilated out at the conclusion of our drill. Great Job by Gladwyne and Narberth Firefighters who took part in this excellent drill.

NEW BUILDING UPDATE
Date: 2/28/07 Today the construction crew installed windows and tar paper on the roof of the new building. On the inside the electricians and plumbers are hard at work making sure that all of the wires and pipes are run before the walls start going up. All of the rooms are framed out and we look forward to the installation of the stairs!

LUCKY GETS A NEW PAIR OF BOOTS!
Date: 2/14/07 With the large snow storm that struck the region on Wednesday, Lucky did not have a pair of boots that were NFPA Compliant. The career staff acted quick and secured a pair of boots for lucky to wear in the snow, to protect his paws from snow, ice, and rock salt. We are checking with Remillard to see if the relief can pay for them since they have scotchlite on them...

LADDER TRUCK UPDATE
Date: 2/9/07 Ladder 24 is currently in Roanoke Virginia at the KME ladder plant. In these two pictures you can see the water tank in place behind the cab and the picture from the back of the truck shows the water tank, pump, and 5th wheel. They are preparing to install the trailer portion of the apparatus along with the ladder! Hopefully the truck will be coming back to KME for final completion in the next couple of weeks.

MORE BUILDING UPDATES
Date: 2/6/07 The new building is coming along! The new crew room is taking shape along with the second floor addition across the back. The construction crew has been braving the cold weather trying to get the walls up to protect them from the wind. Each day noticeable progress is being made. We are EXCITED to get the building finished. Photos by Alan David.
