GLADWYNE SOFTBALL TEAM MAKES PLAYOFFS!
Date: 7/28/06 After a long hot season, WE made the playoffs finishing out the regular season with a record of 14 wins and 4 losses! This record leaves us at 2nd place in the league overall behind that tough Narberth Fire Company Team who took 1st place. The team battled through injury and work schedules, but has had a GREAT year. The playoffs start on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Gladwyne Field. When a more definitive playoff schedule (dates and locations for the games) has been comprised we will post it here for all of our fans!

Gladwyne Firefighters traveled to the Philadelphia Country Club to provide fire protection for the annual Fourth of July Fireworks. Gladwyne Firefighters utilized 3 golf carts as fire protection mini-responders that were equipped with flashlights, portable radios, and pressurized water extinguishers. Crews were requested to assist a young spectator who was stuck on the rock climbing wall, but was able to navigate his way down on his own. After the fireworks display was over crews ensured that there were no brush fires as a result of the fireworks and returned to the station.
